Poetry Writing

Using examples from mostly the last hundred years of poetry in English, students will improve their craft and compose their own poems.  The class will focus on the sonnet, villanelle, thing poem (Dinggedicht), prose poem, and the free-verse lyric.  Students will keep journals, read many poems in the forms we will enact, and write and workshop their own poems.
